Waste Management

The most important advantage for users of our technology is that it avoids the pollution of raw materials. FFAs and water present no difficulties. Furthermore, there is no need for raffinage or acid esterification as a pre-treatment. Animal and vegetable waste streams are perfectly suitable as raw material. Because it is a continuous process, the size of the installation can be substantially smaller and more compact than any other method currently commercially available anywhere. A 1,000 l/hr installation needs ± 200m² of surface area (excluding tank containers). This means that on site installation can be completed in only one week. Modular up scaling is very easy, and enables a start off with a low investment cost.

All these characteristics translate into a very attractive operational cost enabling competitive pricing against larger producers, even though working with a smaller installation.

The principal advantage of our technology is that it does not pollute the raw material. FFAs and water do not cause any difficulties. Furthermore, there is no need for raffinage or acid esterification as a pre-treatment. Fish oil is perfectly suitable as a raw material. Because it is a continuous process, the size of the installation can be substantially smaller and more compact than any other biodiesel facility. A 1,000 l/hr installation needs ± 200m² of surface area (excluding tank containers). This means that on site installation can be completed in only one week. Vegetable Oils

The most important advantage for users of our technology is that it avoids the pollution of raw materials. FFAs and water present no difficulties. Furthermore, there is no need for raffinage or acid esterification as a pre-treatment. Therefore even low quality vegetable oils are absolutely suitable as raw material. Because it is a continuous process, the size of the installation can be substantially smaller and more compact than any other biodiesel facility. A 1,000 l/hr installation needs ± 200m² of surface area (excluding tank containers). This means that on site installation can be completed in only one week. Biodiesel Producers

The FFA esterification process can be easily used in combination with the transesterification units of a conventional biodiesel process. The oil will be directly fed together with dry methanol into the esterification reactor. After the reaction, the FFA in the feedstock will be converted to FAME and the resulting product stream can be further processed in a conventional transesterification unit to convert the triglycerides into FAME as well.
